The Tips On Septic Tank Riser Installation

By Scott Parker

Not many people know the importance of this round diameter pipe in their reservoirs. This article will expound more on the importance of these structures and go further into explaining how one can install them without hiring an expert. Septic tank riser installation is not a complicated process.

One precaution that one should observe is to place a childproof cover on top of this septic tank riser, drywell or cesspool. There are some underground chambers that are partially above ground while others are buried approximately six feet deep. Deep putrefying reservoirs should have some service riser installed. This is to allow easy access for inspection, baffle repair and pumping.

The following are some of the materials that are necessary to be bought and assembled near the site before any installation process takes off.one must have concrete, pvc, polyethylene and polyvinyl chloride. These materials usually differ in durability, price and ease of installation. Other items include Tuf-Tite ring adapter known TAR, a kit for riser rings, stainless steel screws, Butyl rope among others.

The first step is digging down the ground to uncover the buried cleansing tank cleanout cover. You can do this at the outlet and inlet ends of your reservoir. Some people will choose to dig just over the center of septic tank. Once you reach to the reservoir, remove the cleanout cover. Place you riser over this cleanout opening. The diameter of such a structure should be quite big to avoid it falling into the reservoir.

This is how the butyl rope is applied. Apply some ring of this butyl rope to bottom of tuf-tite ring adapter. This is to get a water tight seal to ensure there are no leakages later in future. It is wise to ensure that butyl actually goes all the way round your adapter ring. Get your adapter ring basically around your hole and consequently screw it down.

The next important stage is determination of height of your structure. These putrefying reservoirs can go up to three feet underground or below the surface but only eighteen inches in depth is recommended. These structures are generally stacked one on top of the other until the required height is reached. Measure the area between your reservoirs to where the new lid is to be constructed. The distance between them will determine the actually number of risers to be required.

If a drainfield is quite deep, that it makes the top of soil trenches more than one foot below surface ground, then these means reduction or minimization of aerobic bacteria in soil will really limit the effectiveness or helpfulness of drainfield in reducing all pathogens and also environment contaminants.

Next is installing or fixing adapter ring. First get rid of existing lid before installing a new one. Fix this new adapter ring in an opening to your putrefying reservoir. This riser will basically attach or be fixed to the ring. Secure ring to the reservoir by using concrete. After this is done fix a lid on top to prevent people and children from falling into reservoir.
