Pets are always a great idea. It does not matter if one prefers a dog or a cat, or something else. While dogs can be just the cutest and kindest domestic animal, there is also some good that comes out of owning a cat. Contrary to popular belief, cats are very loving, most people just do not understand how they show love.

Felines groom themselves so there is little worry about them getting really dirty and giving them baths. That is why getting the Egyptian Mau for sale at the local pet shop is a good idea. They are more beginner friendly breed. Fun fact, Mau is the Egyptian term for cat and was derived from the sound they make.

Cats vary in personality, just like how people are different. The Mau is popular for their loyalty and friendliness that is why they are more fun to deal with. Compared to other cats these ones are not as distant and aloof. They have the tendency to get close to people especially if they have been in with them since kittenhood.

Playful and very curious, this breed is a lot of fun around. If one is not the type to play actively with pets then it is best to think twice about getting this type of cat. Lost toys and scratches are the usual consequences of play time with these creatures. It is all in good fun though.

Their territoriality and possessiveness can be seen as a form of love and appreciation. They roam around and like to be in the same area as their owner, or in this case favorite human. They like to be the owners personal furry alarm clocks and use their humans for shoulder riding. For a feline, the Mau is extraordinarily agile and will climb up shelves and windows.

The Egyptian Mau lives for about nine to thirteen years on average so there is enough time to get attached to the creature. These are heavily muscled, strong, exceptionally agile breed of felines. This breed is moderately sized with the males being bigger than females. Bonding with the pet can be as relaxing as just petting their fur. They like that a lot.

It does not take a lot to maintain and keep them clean. The only necessary chores that the owner has is cutting nails, brushing their teeth and cleaning their ears. It is best to get used to cutting their nails since playtime might render the owner with playful scratches. Also, inquire about the recommended toothpaste to use for the pet. Get the pet used to the grooming process as a kitten so it will be easy doing this during adulthood.

Remember to take the kitten to the veterinarian for the needed vaccinations and annual check ups. During the first year it is important to deworm and spay . These are the initial pet owner responsibilities. Training them to use the litter box is easy, so there is no worry there.

Having a pet is subtly life changing. Money will gradually be spent on toys, food and the vet. It may feel like taking care of a kid, but all cat owners can agree that the love and companionship these creature give are all worth the trouble. A pet cat is definitely perfect for those with a more reserved nature since they do not take so much physical activity to take care of.
